HUNZA

The Hunza Valley in Pakistan is the home to a community of people said to survive longer than anyone on Earth. So, what are their health secrets to longevity?

The secret is in their health lifestyle and of course their diet!

They have an average life expectancy of 100 years old and exceeding 120 years in some cases. Meanwhile, the average life expectancy in Pakistan is only 67 years. (a huge difference!)

Some sources states that Hunza women can conceive between the ages of 60 and 90 - a claim most women would find incredibly hard to believe.(no scientific evidence)

The Hunza Valley is situated in a pristine, remore area of northern Pakistan, there locals grow their own food and utilize fresh glacier water for bathing and drinking.

Cut-off from any nearby cities, commercial hubs or transportations, the Hunza do not consume any processed foods and eat a diet rich in vegetables, milk, grains and fruit, especially apricots. ( in every shape)

Apricots are a staple for the Hunza, who are said to go for several months a year on a diet consisting purely of apricot juice. The Hunza are said to not suffer from cancer, due to their consumption of vitamin b-17, also known as amygdalin, found in apricot seeds. Their diet also consists largely of raw fruits and vegetables, and lesser quantities of meat (2 times a year!)

Hunza is a fairy tale land and a lot of myth and reality has been associated to it.But there are also some unresolved mysteries involving the Hunza, like the origin of their language.

The Hunza language, known as Burushaski, is completely unrelated to the Indo-European or Tibetan languages bordering it. The only similarity anthropologists have connected it with is with an equally isolated and unique culture - that of the Basque region of Spain.

The Hunza have the fairest skin out of any other group in Pakistan, adding to the assumption they may have descended from a small group that settled in the region at one point, possibly soldiers from Alexander the Great's army, or another nomadic European group.

The Hunza developed the practice of equating age with wisdom, experience and achievements. A wise farmer of 60 years of age, who had accomplished much more than the average farmer, could rightly claim to be 150 years.

Hunza is a community full of culture and tradition, did you know them?!
